Game news A record broken at the Game Awards, and not just any record!
Normally, The Game Awards are the night where video games are recognized for their critical, public, or commercial success. However, sometimes a few events take over these rewards. This year, it was a certain speech that caused a sensation on the web, and which even broke a record.
Summary
- Christopher Judge and Al Pacino are on set
- Kratos breaks the record for best stunner
Christopher Judge and Al Pacino are on set
As the Game Awards ceremony had just begun, Geoff Keighley got off to a strong start by inviting cinema legend Al Pacino on stage. A choice ultimately not so improbable since the great actor, producer and screenwriter of 82 years had been chosen to announce the winner of the category “Best performance”, rewarding the best actors and actresses of the video game.
Al Pacino then took the opportunity to share his opinion on video games, despite the fact that he is not a great player himself, in his own words. In front of the public present and all the spectators live on Twitch and YouTube, he therefore declared to be “impressed by the unique ways in which the games tell their stories”, and more particularly by the performance of the actors. Al Pacino even made a point of noting that, according to him, “actors elevate video games to new heights”, before announcing the winner: Christopher Judge for his portrayal of Kratos in God of War: Ragnarok.
The latter then went on stage and began to deliver a speech which, to say the least, marked the canvas. We must believe that Christopher Judge had a lot to say to celebrate his victory, since he did not finish speaking until almost 8 minutes later, a real record in this category, and not only for the award ceremonies linked to the video games.

Kratos breaks the record for best stunner
If it is obvious that this speech (which you will find in full in the video above) made the spectators on the spot as much as laugh as those on the web, it also broke a particularly impressive record. Indeed, the official Game Awards Twitter account said this morning that Christopher Judge’s speech is now officially the longest of all the speeches given at an awards ceremony:
Leave it to Kratos to set a world record.
The longest awards show acceptance speech in history WAS actress Greer Garson at the 1942 Oscars.
She spoke for 5 minutes 30 seconds.
Christopher Judge’s speech at #thegameawards was 7 minutes 59 seconds.

Kratos laissez-faire to set a world record.
The longest acceptance speech in history given at an award ceremony WAS held by actress Greer Garson at the 1942 Oscars.
She had spoken for 5 minutes and 30 seconds.
Christopher Judge’s speech at The Game Awards 2022 lasted 7 minutes and 59 seconds.
It’s time to contact the Guinness of World Records.
If Kratos had accustomed us to knocking out anything that had the misfortune to cross his path in a fraction of a second, we have to believe that the actor who lends him his voice is also capable of it. A shame knowing that the god of war is not really known to be the most talkative of the characters of God of War: Ragnarok… In any case, there is no doubt that this record should be established in the famous Guinness of records if the Game Awards end up contacting them as announced in their tweet.

We want to say thanks to the writer of this short article for this amazing material
