Oscars 2022: the big winner of a new “category” will be chosen on Twitter

The 2022 Oscars hosted the #OscarsFanFavorite, offering the most fan-quoted film on Twitter to have their little tribute at the ceremony.

Because we must celebrate the return with great fanfare of the cinematographic machine in 2021, the Oscars 2022 have decided to innovate with #OscarsFanFavorite. From February 14 until March 3, 2022, users of the social network Twitter can name their favorite film, the one they consider deserving of a small victory informal.

The film does not need to be on the official list of cities to be selected. The one with the most votes will be entitled to a “tribute” moment, in the absence of a real price during the ceremony. And inevitably, since this announcement, there has been a surge on Twitter, where each cinephile goes there with his favorite of the year, the film that he considers poorly qualified, even shunned by the Oscars.

Obviously, social networks indulging in the fever of pop culture events, we immediately think of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the alloy of the three cinematographic sagas of the Spider. The film may have been cited for its visual effects, but the fans would undoubtedly have liked to see it more highlighted. As pointed out The Hollywood Reporter in its relay of the announcement, it’s a safe bet that the film will be the winner, as the community power of Marvel is unifying. And indeed, his name already comes up often.

However, a few other titles come up frequently on the hashtag, such as Zack Snyder’s Justice Leaguein particular for the symbolic value of the film (an author’s vision which materializes, after the suffocation of a studio) or The Eternalscoming out of the classic Marvel codes. However, Shang Chi and No Way Home were Oscar favorites (both for Best Visual Effects citation). A misunderstanding for some moviegoers, who would like to congratulate the “risk-taking” signed Chloé Zhao.

When you imagine all the quotable horrors

The scene receiving the most quotes will be broadcast during the ceremony which will take place on March 27, 2022. Suffice to say that we already have the feeling that Spider-Man will be present during the event, whatever happens.
