Here are two who will not spend their holidays together… The 94th Academy Awards was marked by an unprecedented incident, even violent and which could have unfortunate consequences. If none of this was premeditated…and it honestly doesn’t seem to be. What happened ? Invited to present the Oscar for Best Documentary (summer of soul), Chris Rock made a joke about Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith: “GI Jane 2, can’t wait to see it”, launched Chris Rock. Small reference to the bald head that the actress, suffering from alopecia, has been sporting for several months, thus referring to the character played by Demi Moore in the film GI Jane (On Equal Arms, in French). On the images of the evening, we see that Jada is not laughing, Will, him, smiles but a few seconds later, he gets up, goes on the stage and puts a big “mandal” to Chris before returning to sit down. “Wow. Will Smith just gave me a hell of a slap”.

But we don’t stop there. And we would almost forget that, a few minutes later, Will Smith won the Oscar for best actor for his role in The Williams Method (in which he plays Richard Williams, the father of Serena and Venus Williams). He was in tears. He broke into a very long speech: “Art imitates life. Richard Williams was said to be a crazy dad and I feel the same way. But love drives you crazy, he said, also adding that he was going through a somewhat difficult period. And he concluded with his words, and laughing, “I hope the Academy will invite me again. Thanks. »

And can there be consequences to this break out by Will Smith. The police were kept informed of this incident but specified that Chris Rock did not wish to file a complaint… for the moment. When at the Academy of the Oscars, she just said that she does not tolerate any form of violence, and some wonder if the actor could be sanctioned and lose his Oscar because of it…
