Each digit of the hour is represented by a polygon with a number of vertices equal to the digit itself, ranging from 0 to 9. The result is a visually striking and highly readable clock face.

One of Gonon's most impressive features is its carefully calculated geometry. To prevent the polygons from visually overlapping, the radii of each ring grow progressively larger - 10, 21, 43, 88, 178, and 192 units. This precise arrangement ensures that no polygons will ever intersect, regardless of the time being displayed.

The Gonon also features a 24-hour arc that traverses the circle from midnight to the next midnight, providing a quick glance at the percentage of the day that has elapsed.
