Maverick games unveils new aaa open-world racer
After a week
of cryptic clues and tantalizing screenshots, independent studio Maverick Games is finally set to reveal its highly-anticipated AAA open-world action-driving game on June 2. Led by former Forza Horizon 5 creative director Mike Brown, the Leamington Spa-based team has been teasing the title through a unique livestream countdown from within a modified Fiat Multipla placed inside the studio.

Earlier this year, Amazon unexpectedly backed out of a publishing deal with Maverick Games, leaving the project's future uncertain. However, Brown swiftly reassured fans on social media that development was continuing apace and the game's announcement remained on track.
Founded in 2022 following the departure of key staff from Playground Games, Maverick Games has been building momentum since its inception. Brown, joined by a seasoned team including producer Tom Butcher, technical director Matt Craven, and art director Ben Penrose, has been pouring resources into crafting a premium open-world experience for consoles and PC.
