The “gripping” four-part drama revolves around a prisoner on death row in the United States, a vicar in a quiet English town and a math teacher trapped in a cellar, all of whom cross paths from unexpected way.
The show’s official synopsis reads, “In the United States, a death row inmate seeks atonement when he faces execution. On a train in England, a journalist is looking for a story. In a quiet little village, a vicar picks up his son’s maths teacher at the station. All four are about to get caught up in a dilemma that could lead one of them to murder.

The first official trailer for Inside the man was released on September 20, giving viewers their first look at the mysterious new series.
Commenting on the new series, director of the BBC drama Piers Wenger praised the ‘fantasy’ Inside the man cast, teasing that viewers can expect to be “grabbed” by the drama written by Moffat. “BBC One viewers will already experience the television magic created when Steven Moffat wrote for David, Dolly and Lydia. Wenger continued, “With the fantastic Stanley Tucci by their side as our Inside the maneverything is in place for a series that will keep the nation in suspense.
Elsewhere, BBC Studios Independent Theater director Caroline Stone said the broadcaster was “very excited” to “bring another fantastic series from Steven Moffat to audiences around the world”.
“Inside the man is poised to be a must-watch drama with an extremely talented lineup both on-screen and off-screen. Based on the very successful partnerships we’ve had in the past with Netflix, we’re optimistic this will be another hit globally,” Stone concluded.
