César 2022: an Honorary César awarded to Cate Blanchett | myCANAL

An internationally renowned Australian actress and producer, twice Oscar winner, Cate Blanchett will receive the César d’Honneur on the stage of the Olympia, during the 47ᵉ Cesar Ceremony to be held on Friday February 25, 2022. Suffice to say that we is delighted with this new consecration, for this actress who has never ceased to surprise us throughout her always demanding filmography.

Indeed, since her debut as an actress, Cate Blanchett’s career has been marked by international awards: Golden Globe for Best Actress in a drama film in 1999 for his portrayal of the Queen ELIZABETH, in Shekhar Kapur’s film; Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in 2005 for her portrayal of Katharine Hepburn in AVIATOR by Martin Scorsese;

Volpi Cup at the Venice Film Festival in 2007 for his portrayal of singer Bob Dylan in I’M NOT THERE by Todd Haynes; Oscar for Best Actress in 2014 for her role in BLUE JASMINE by Woody Allen…

As many films as you can find on myCANAL as well as BABEL or THE MAN WHO CRIED, while waiting to see this extraordinary actress soon rewarded with the prestigious César d’Honneur.

Cate Blanchett convinces the public as well as the critics with each of her appearances, whether as an elven queen in the trilogies of LORD OF THE RINGS and Peter Jackson’s HOBBIT, as an evil goddess in THOR: RAGNAROK by Taika Waititi, or in love with David Fincher in THE STRANGE STORY OF BEJAMIN BUTTON or at Todd Haynes in CAROL. Irreproachable career choices, and this since his first films like EYES WIDE SHUT by Stanley Kubrick, in which we hear his unforgettable voice guide the character played by Tom Cruise within the famous house of the feature film. Today, having reached the top, she is one of the rare actresses to preside over festival juries as in Cannes in 2018 then in Venice in 2020.

Co-founder and director of production company Dirty Filmsalongside Andrew Upton and Coco Francini, Cate Blanchett is a multi-faceted artist who works in cinema, television, theater. Outside the sets, Cate Blanchett is also actively engaged in particular for women’s rights or ecology. Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR, the United Nations Refugee Agency, the Crystal Prize at the World Economic Forum in Davos was awarded to her in 2018 for her work and dedication.

It is therefore with obvious pleasure as a cinephile and immense admiration that we will all cheer him together on the stage of the Olympia, during this presentation of the César d’Honneur to follow on February 25th on CANAL+!
