As a Guest is a new hotel distribution platform that aims to offer stays at fixed prices in high-end hotels while participating in the creation of a more united and responsible economy. Jesson Auber, co-founder of As a Guest, discusses the concept and ambitions of the platform.

Can you explain the concept of As a Guest to us?

As a Guest is the first private sales site for high-end hotels at a fixed and responsible price. We aim to transform unsold items into enriched and packaged travel offers during off-peak periods with two offers: Plaisir and Premium. In addition to the night, this includes an experience such as a spa, a local activity, a tasting… The idea is never to offer a “single” room but always a package in order to offer a more attractive experience for the end customer.

This allows the professional to make the most of an off-peak period by offering an enriched experience and to build customer loyalty thereafter. Namely that the offer is exclusive to the site and that the price is directly defined with the hotelier. Before having access to the offers, the customer must open an account for free. For the hotelier, opening an account is also free, but a commission will be charged for each reservation.

What makes you different from a Staycation or Veepee?

The readability of the offer and the transparency. The rates are linear all year round so there is no price variation. The customer is guaranteed the quality of the hotel, which ranges from 3 stars + to 5 stars, and the price which remains the same all year round. For hoteliers, they are the ones who define the sales periods, whether in early booking or last minute. In addition, we support them in the creation of offers and provide a digital butler service that allows the end customer to have access to personalized information on the destination.

You insist on the social and responsible dimension, what does that mean?

We have a program to offset our carbon footprint by partnering with EcoTree to participate in reforestation in France. At the same time, we donate 1% of our turnover to organizations to support the tourism sector. We want to make hoteliers aware of these aspects and, at our level, reduce the carbon footprint linked to our activity.

What are your development projects?

After France, we now want to extend our offer to southern Europe such as Spain, Italy and Portugal. We are therefore looking for new partners and collaborators to strengthen our teams. To support this growth, we will soon be announcing a new fundraiser. At the same time, we recently signed a partnership with the Les Collectionneurs network to participate in the promotion of independent hotels in order to boost their off-peak periods or even simplify their distribution.
