Costa has completely renewed its offer since 2021, focusing on theexploring destinations and a new program of routes and excursions, while introducing important novelties in the gastronomic fieldthanks to the collaboration by Bruno Barbieri, Hélène Darroze and Ángel León.
All this aboard a fleet ever more respectful of the environment.
The specificity of Costa is to be focused on the exploration of destinations through unique experiences that your customers will live, both on board and ashore.
“We want those who go on vacation with us to live unique and enriching experiences, through a more authentic and deeper discovery of the destinations” – says Mario Zanetti, General Manager of Costa Cruises. That’s why we’ve redesigned our itineraries with long stopovers, created a new restaurant where you can enjoy three different destination-related menus designed by three starred chefs, and completely revamped our range of excursions. Without forgetting one of our priorities, sustainable development.”
In terms of gastronomyCosta relied on the skills of three of the greatest chefs in the world: Bruno Barbieri, Hélène Darroze and Ángel León. This exceptional trio of Michelin-starred chefs set out in search of authentic local recipes in the places visited by Costa’s ships, then reinterpreted them with their know-how. The Destination Dishes are individual dishes created by the three chefs, who interpret the traditions and flavors of the place that passengers will visit the next day. They are available in the main restaurants on all Costa ships and are included in the price.
In terms of itineraries and excursionsCosta invites your customers to explore hidden and little visited treasures. The routes have been designed to offer the longest stops ever made, offering a whole day to discover the destination and make the most of it. Costa’s excursions are thus real experiences in the heart of each place, to appreciate the most authentic traditions, flavors and colors.
In terms of sustainable innovation, the Costa Smeralda, and the Costa Toscana, run on LNG (liquefied natural gas), the technology that guarantees the best environmental performance in the maritime sector. In the line of “Manifesto for valuable, sustainable and inclusive tourism“, which sums up Costa Cruises’ commitment to growing with local communities, the new excursion offer offered by Costa has been designed precisely to highlight the specific assets of each destination. The chefs’ menus are developed by matching great attention to choice of raw materials, mainly from local producers, and their processing, with the aim of avoiding food waste. Costa Cruises donates part of the proceeds from each dinner at the Archipelago to the Costa Cruises Foundation to support its environmental and social projects.
