She fell in love with this old bourgeois house from 1648, its garden and its breathtaking panorama overlooking the valleys at Sainte-Croix-du-Mont in Gironde. If Prescilia Pontat had a lot of imagination, the hardest part remained to be done within the walls of this Bel Air Castle.

For seven months, the manager of the bed and breakfast establishment challenged herself to renovate these 400m2 of house, from A to Z. And it is, finally, since the end of May, that she has been able to launch reservations for its luxury suites, which overlook the South-Gironde.

189 euros per night, minimum

Price of one night: minimum 189 euros. A price justified by the contemporary design which contrasts with the authenticity of the Gironde building, the works of art which punctuate the rooms of the house. “I selected the furniture, the layout of the rooms, the objects, the mirrors and above all, the chandeliers. The essential, yields Prescilia. I didn’t need an architect, I had an exact idea of what I wanted, even if I sometimes changed my mind…”. The castle, transformed to the tastes and colors of the owner, has kept its charms of yesteryear, such as its large tiled corridors and its restored moldings.

For the works, Prescilia wanted to work with local craftsmen, it was a way for her to forge a link with the locals. Even if, today, the clientele, which reserves its suites, is not local. “The goal is for people to be able to discover the region, the wine from the château that we offer, our eco-responsible products, our electric bike rides, but also cooking workshops and local meals according to demand. I really want to adapt, to do tailor-made. »

Make the difference with bedding

These prestigious rooms are already a great success because, with the approach of summer, thanks to the various booking platforms such as Booking, Priceline or on the house’s website, holidaymakers have already booked. “The first customers arrived last week, and it went very well. The bedding seems to be the most of the house, it must be said that I bet everything on it. This is where I can make a difference with renowned linens, made in France”, she says. If this activity is secondary, Prescilia Pontat is fully invested. Manager of an e-commerce company, she has set up her offices near her guest rooms to always keep an eye on it.

And above all, take care of your guests.
