In the Pays de la Loire region, a strong recovery in tourist rentals » PACA’s economic and political newsletter

50% more reservations compared to 2019 for all concierge services in France and already reservations for 2023.

The Easter holidays are already coming and, after a long period of health crisis, many French people are now ready to leave to enjoy the sunny days. Among the preferred destinations for holidaymakers in France, the Pays de Loire region is doing well with families thanks to attractive prices for seasonal rentals.

If 2021 was a particularly complex year for tourism with the health crisis, 2022 already suggests good prospects for recovery for the sector in France and in particular in Pays de Loire. In any case, this is what the seasonal rental figures for the coming months suggest, from the recent study by Smily dedicated to this region popular with tourists.

Thus, Smily notes that if the average price for a seasonal rental is currently 70 euros for an apartment and 90 euros for a house per night, 70% of requests concern families – of 4 people minimum. Regarding the services provided, holidaymakers mostly request access to wifi, Netflix, a swimming pool or a jacuzzi.

As for the owners, the annual income achieved thanks to this increase in demand and tourist activity is between 10,000 and 12,000 euros on average. Another interesting data, the Smily analysis reveals that until December 2021, people booked their vacation rental up to 8 days before. The trend is a little different this year, around 20 to 22 days before since the start of 2022, with holidaymakers being more cautious about booking at the very last moment.

The annual income recorded thanks to this increase in demand and tourist activity reaches 10 to 12,000 euros on average.

Finally, more generally, Smily has already noted reservations taken for 2023 and underlines for 2022 a 50% increase in reservations compared to 2019 for all concierge services in France.
