Ski holidays: save money in times of inflation!

All prices are increasing but you still want to maintain your ski holiday. Here are some good deals for cheap skiing, and a not too high bill!

Don’t go on vacation

Difficult to apply this advice when you have children in school. But in many cases, it is possible to leave during off-peak periods, to avoid the high season, especially the February holidays. Accommodation prices are generally lower. And the crowd on the slopes and at the foot of the ski lifts is much less dense than during school holidays. If you have your habits in a station, that you already have your favorite accommodation, only one piece of advice: anticipate. Many hosts offer “Early Booking” offers. A 10% discount (or even more) if you book before a certain date. Another good idea for anticipation, that of the races. Whatever field you choose, you can often benefit froma beginner’s package. It does not allow you to use all the ski lifts, but only a few. Another good plan on ski passes, free for the youngest. Some stations offer packages up to 8 years old and under certain conditions up to 12 years old! Stay a little further?

If you want to save even more, you can choose to stay a little further away. Some mountain villages allow easy access to ski areas and offer much more attractive prices. In Bourg Saint Maurice, for example, a funicular allows you to climb up to the Arcs area, but accommodation in the valley is much cheaper. In Maurienne, Orelle provides access to the Val Thorens area but there too, prices are lower. However, beware of cheap accommodation located 40 or 50km from the resort. A round trip per day will quickly cost you quite a lot of fuel (not to mention your carbon footprint).
