Amazon raises price of prime video's ad-free tier, introduces 'prime video ultra'
Amazon has hiked the cost of its Prime Video ad-free tier, now dubbed Prime Video Ultra, effective April 10, 2026. The subscription price will jump from $2.99 to $4.99 per month, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Prime video ultra offers enhanced features
Upgrades include the ability to stream content in 4K/UHD, increase from three to five concurrent streams, and expand the number of video downloads from 25 to 100. The standard Prime Video plan will see a lesser boost, with download capacity rising from 25 to 50 and concurrent streams from two to four.
Amazon's move comes as it continues to produce new content, including the recently launched Guy Ritchie series Young Sherlock, which received a 7/10 rating in our review. The platform is also in production on a live-action God of War series.
