Samsung speeds up one ui 8.5 beta rollout to hundreds of devices
Good news for Samsung fans: the tech giant is accelerating the rollout of its new One UI 8.5 operating system, which is based on Google's Android 16. Instead of being exclusive to a select few, the beta version is now available for a wide range of devices, from foldables to the Galaxy A series.

As part of its public beta program, Samsung has expanded the One UI 8.5 testing to hundreds of devices. The list includes:

Galaxy S24 series, including the standard, plus, ultra, and FE models
Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, including the FE variant
Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6

Galaxy Tab S9 series, including the standard, plus, ultra, FE, and FE+ models
Galaxy Tab S8 series, including the standard, plus, and ultra models
Galaxy Tab A11+, Tab A9, and the rugged Tab Active 5
Galaxy M series, including the M17, M07, M56, M36, M16, M55/M55s, M35, M15, M05, and M54 models

New features in one ui 8.5
This is more than just a maintenance patch. One UI 8.5, built on Android 16 QPR2, brings a cleaner visual language. A notable feature is the dynamic blur effect applied throughout the interface, giving a sense of depth and elegance reminiscent of desktop operating systems.
Samsung's native apps have also been redesigned for greater intuitiveness. Artificial intelligence is now more proactive (Galaxy AI), suggesting actions based on usage context without being intrusive.
Stability has been the focus of recent weeks, with the aim of ensuring that even modest devices like the A or M series maintain a fluid performance.
Democratizing latest features
Samsung's strategy for 2026 appears clear: to democratize the latest software features as quickly as possible. While the Galaxy S26 already ships with this version out of the box, the fact that older devices like the S22 or A53 are now in the testing pool for One UI 8.5 is great news for device longevity.
