102-Year-old tech guru proves age is no barrier to learning

From miner to mentor

After a career in mining and serving in World War II, Simes decided to learn informatics in his retirement. He didn't want to feel frustrated by modern technologies, so he dedicated himself to mastering them through practice.

With his newfound expertise, Simes started a computer club for seniors at a local center, teaching them everything he knew and continued to learn. He believes age is no obstacle to education, as long as one is willing to put in the repetition and practice.
