Actor patrick muldoon dies at 57, soap opera star known for roles on 'days of our lives' and 'melrose place'

Actor Patrick Muldoon has died at the age of 57, his manager confirmed to Variety on Sunday. Muldoon was best known for his work on the daytime soap opera 'Days of Our Lives', where he played Austin Reed from 1992 to 1995 and again from 2011 to 2012.

He also had a starring role on the primetime soap 'Melrose Place' from 1995 to 1996, playing the villainous Richard Hart.

Muldoon's film credits included a memorable turn as Zander Barcalow in the 1997 sci-fi action film 'Starship Troopers', opposite Denise Richards.

In recent years, he had been working as a producer, with his own production company, Storyboard Productions.

Just days before his passing, Muldoon shared a post on Instagram about his latest project, 'Kockroach', directed by Matt Ross and starring Chris Hemsworth, Taron Edgerton, Zazie Beetz and Alec Baldwin.
