Airbnb expands private transfers to 125+ cities
Forget hailing a taxi after a long flight. Airbnb is streamlining the arrival experience, rolling out its private transfer service to over 125 cities across Europe, Asia, and Latin America, including five key Spanish destinations. The move, following a successful pilot program earlier in 2026, aims to elevate the entire travel journey beyond just the stay itself.

Seamless arrivals, elevated experiences
The expansion marks a significant step for Airbnb’s “Services” offering, initially launched in May of last year with 10 different categories. Now, travelers heading to Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Málaga, and Valencia in Spain, as well as international hubs like Paris, Bali, and Mexico City, can book a private car directly within the Airbnb app. The platform boasts a traveler satisfaction rating of 4.96 out of 5 from the pilot program – a testament to the demand for convenient, pre-arranged transportation.
The integration is surprisingly intuitive: after booking accommodation, users simply navigate to the “Trips” tab within the app to secure their transfer. From there, adjustments can be made directly through the platform. For arrivals, a “meet & greet” option provides a personalized welcome; departures are handled with direct pickup from the accommodation, whisking travelers to the airport or their departure point with ease.
“Airbnb Services are designed to enhance the traveler’s stay, and our collaboration with Welcome Pickups embodies that goal from the moment they arrive,” stated Stephenson, Chief Business Officer of Airbnb, in a recent announcement. While the current rollout covers over 125 cities, the company’s ambition clearly extends beyond, with plans for further expansion across Spain and other regions throughout 2026.
The move speaks to a broader shift in traveler expectations. No longer are they content with simply finding a place to stay; they demand a holistic, effortless experience. And for Airbnb, it’s a chance to capture a larger share of the travel wallet, transforming from a simple accommodation provider to a comprehensive travel concierge.
