Brian cox to hunt again as serial killer in 'dexter: resurrection' season 2

Acclaimed actor Brian Cox, the first to portray Hannibal Lecter on screen, is reuniting with his 'serial killer' persona for 'Dexter: Resurrection' Season 2. Variety reports Cox will play Dom Framt, known as The New York Ripper, a character originally introduced in Season 1 who terrorized the city in the past. Though inactive as a killer, Framt has found a new way to live in infamy by taunting survivors of his long-ago murders.

Cox's serial killer legacy

Cox's portrayal of Hannibal Lecter in Michael Mann's 1986 film 'Manhunter' set the tone for his subsequent roles in the serial killer genre. This includes his work in 'Dexter: Resurrection', where he'll once again embody a deranged mind.

Throughout his extensive filmography, Cox has established himself as a versatile actor, appearing in a wide range of projects such as 'X2', 'Troy', the 'Jason Bourne' movies, 'Trick 'r Treat', 'Braveheart', 'Super Troopers', 'Zodiac', 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes', and 'The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim'.

Michael C. Hall will also return for Season 2 of 'Dexter: Resurrection', reprising his role as the titular protagonist, Dexter Morgan.
