The controversy follows the announcement in mid-July that acclaimed voice actress Jennifer English was stepping down from the role of Gwendolyn due to health concerns. Eclipse Glow Games subsequently released 40 minutes of gameplay footage in mid-August.

Lead game producer Fu Kun addressed the concerns in a Q&A, explaining that the changes were intended to improve lighting optimization and create a smoother rendering process. He clarified that previous trailers also utilized real-time rendering and that the face shape is consistent across the latest footage and demo.
