This shift allows for a more natural glow, reminiscent of the effects seen in Walt disney – A Magical Life, where 3D-printed eyes with glaze created a similar effect. Anna, in particular, now possesses a more nuanced emotional expression, lending a newfound sincerity to her interactions.
Beyond the facial enhancements, the attraction’s scenes have also been subtly brightened. The team revisited the black light scenes, refocusing lights and updating fixtures for a more vibrant presentation. The meticulous work included porting data from the Hong Kong version, a strategic move that saved considerable time and resources.
The update didn't require reanimating the figures frame by frame. The original animation from Walt disney Animation Studios was tweaked to align with the mechanical limitations of the robots. This clever approach meant the team could leverage existing assets, accelerating the upgrade process. The result? A refreshed experience that feels both familiar and strikingly new.
