Carpenter's nightmare unfolds in new graphic novel

The graphic novel, slated for release on August 4, 2026, brings Carpenter's signature dread to the page. Art by Federico De Luca and Luis Guaragna, with colors by Ryan Winn, visually translates the story's chilling premise: an abandoned cathedral in downtown Los Angeles becomes the focal point of a terrifying mystery.

The narrative centers on Lieutenant Christine Marks and her team of detectives as they investigate a gruesome murder within the church's walls, uncovering a centuries-old evil.

“I saw it in a dream: a nightmare landscape deep underground filled with monsters too weird and sinister to exist in daylight,” Carpenter stated.
