Kojima's quest for enhanced player experience in death stranding 2
In a candid interview, Death Stranding 2 lead level designer Hiroaki Yoshiike revealed that legendary game creator Hideo Kojima was hell-bent on ensuring players would have an absolutely fantastic time from start to finish in the highly-anticipated sequel.

Kojima's mission: keeping players engaged
nAccording to Yoshiike, Kojima 'wanted more people to enjoy the game' all the way up to the credits rolling. It's an interesting revelation, especially in light of musician Yoann 'Woodkid' Lemoine's earlier statement that Kojima made significant changes to the game halfway through development because playtesting results were 'too good,' and he didn't want his work to be 'mainstream' or easily forgotten.
nYoshiike explained that while the first game 'introduced all the new concepts and what the world is like' and was, at times, 'very elaborate,' feedback suggested it might've been a tad slow. In the second installment, the team aimed to make it less elaborate, providing necessary worldbuilding elements for completionists while ensuring others could follow the story through supplementary game elements.
nThis design approach seems to have paid off, as Yoshiike noted they've received a lot of feedback that Death Stranding 2 is much easier to recommend to people. Moreover, metrics show players are progressing further than before, aligning with their intended design.
