Pokémon tcg's chaos rising expansion revealed with mega evolutions galore

The next chapter in the Pokémon Trading Card Game saga is here as The Pokémon Company has officially announced Chaos Rising, the third set of the 2026 Mega Evolutionexpansion. Leaked back in February, this highly anticipated release is now confirmed to bring a onslaught of powerful Mega Evolutions to the fore.

Mega evolutions take center stage in chaos rising

At the heart of Chaos Rising lies the focus on Mega Evolutions featured prominently in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Fans can expect to see fan-favorite Pokémon like Mega Floette ex wreak havoc as night falls in Lumiose City, alongside other behemoths such as Mega Greninja ex, Mega Pyroar ex, and Mega Dragalge ex.

Trainers can look forward to a treasure trove of new cards including five Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, five Pokémon ex, 11 illustration rare Pokémon, 18 ultra rare Pokémon and Trainer cards, and six special illustration rare Pokémon and Supporter cards.

Chaos rising elite trainer box and release date

Alongside the main set, The Pokémon Company has also revealed the Chaos Rising Elite Trainer Box, which will feature the elusive Mega Greninja. Both the main set and the Elite Trainer Box are set to drop on May 22, 2026, with preorders expected to kick off soon at The Pokémon Center and other major retailers.

In the lead-up to Chaos Rising's release, trainers can participate in various prerelease tournaments at select retailers beginning May 9. Pokémon TCG Live support will also be activated from May 21.
