Revel roars back: 30 years of audio innovation culminate in performa4
After a prolonged absence
, Revel, the revered loudspeaker brand cherished by audiophiles, is making a significant return. Under the HARMAN Luxury Audio Group umbrella – alongside powerhouses like Arcam, JBL Synthesis, Lexicon, and Mark Levinson – Revel is launching the Performa4 series, a collection meticulously engineered to recapture the brand's legacy of acoustic excellence. This isn't just a reintroduction; it's a declaration of intent to redefine high-end audio.A legacy forged in research: three decades of pursuit
Revel’s comeback is underpinned by an impressive 30-year investment in acoustic research. The company’s advanced research center has clocked thousands of hours in listening tests, psychoacoustic studies, and computer-aided modeling. The Performa4 range, they assert, is the direct embodiment of this relentless pursuit of sonic perfection.
The heart of the Performa4 lies in its newly developed Deep Ceramic Composite (DCC) and Micro Ceramic Composite (MCC) transducer materials. These materials, paired with seventh-generation Acoustic Lens Waveguide technology and precision crossover architecture, represent a culmination of decades refining the science of sound. The result, Revel claims, is a dramatic reduction in coloration compared to conventional driver materials, and improved rigidity and reduced mass for dynamic response.
The design details are equally meticulous. Each speaker features custom-designed, FEA-analyzed aluminum die-cast chassis to optimize airflow, reduce weight, and enhance resonance performance. These are finished with inverted lips and integrated trim rings for a clean, elegant aesthetic. The cabinet design itself, boasting gently curved sides clad in premium wood veneers (walnut natural and walnut black), further elevates the visual appeal, ensuring the Performa4 is as much a statement piece as it is a sonic instrument.

The performa4 lineup: from floorstanders to subwoofers
The Performa4 series comprises a comprehensive range of options for both music enthusiasts and home theater aficionados. The flagship F346 floorstanding speaker boasts three 6.5” (165mm) MCC cone woofers, a 6.5” (165mm) DCC cone midrange, and a 1” (25mm) DCC dome tweeter with the seventh-generation Acoustic Lens Waveguide. The more compact F345 shares a similar architecture, while the M146 and M145 bookshelf models offer refined performance in a smaller footprint. The C245center channel is designed to seamlessly integrate with the floorstanding and bookshelf models, ensuring tonal consistency across the front soundstage. Rounding out the lineup is the B140 subwoofer, driven by a robust 750-watt RMS / 1500-watt peak Class D amplifier, delivering impactful low-frequency extension down to 26Hz.
Prices for the Performa4 series in the US range from $1,999 for the M145 bookshelf speakers to $6,999 for the F346 floorstanders, with the subwoofer and center channel priced at $2,999 and $1,499 respectively. The MFS4 floor stands are available for $699 a pair.
Revel will officially unveil the Performa4 series at AXPONA 2026, held from April 10-12 in Chicago, Illinois. While European pricing remains unannounced, the return of this storied brand promises a compelling new chapter in the pursuit of high-fidelity audio, challenging established players and setting a new benchmark for performance. The question isn't whether Revel can reclaim its place at the pinnacle of loudspeaker design, but whether the competition can keep pace.
