Sonya walger lands god of war role as freya
American actress Sonya Walger, known for her role as Penny Widmore on Lost, has been cast as Freya in Amazon Prime Video's upcoming live-action God of War series.

Freya, a vanir goddess, joins kratos, atreus, odin and more in the adaptation.
Walger will play Freya, described as a powerful Vanir goddess and former Queen of the Valkyries in Asgard. Her character, once married to Odin, was exiled and has lived a recluse in Midgard for a century, feared by humans and often referred to as the Witch of the Woods.
Walger, a fan favorite for her portrayal of Penny on Lost, has appeared in over a dozen episodes of the hit series. God of War creator David Jaffe recently shared his thoughts on the show's first image, calling out the look of the Kratos character.
Amazon and Sony have not yet announced a release date for the series, but production is underway. Other previously announced roles include Max Parker as Heimdall, Alastair Duncan as Mimir, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Thor, and Teresa Palmer as Sif.
