State of decay 3 ditches zombie animals, trailer a misleading concept
Survival fans eagerly anticipating State of Decay 3's release will have to wait without the promised zombie animals. In a recent interview, Philip Holt, Head of Undead Labs, revealed that the game's early trailer featuring a zombie deer was nothing more than a concept built at a time when the actual game didn't exist.

Holt explained that the developer, which has faced allegations of fostering a toxic workplace and lack of direction, initially had only four or five people working on the game in its early stages. The trailer was created by Blur and pre-rendered, representing the team's thoughts on what could be cool to explore in State of Decay 3, rather than an actual representation of the game.
As the team grew and the game began taking shape, some elements, like zombie animals, were deemed unworkable. Holt simply stated,
