Golden Globes 2021: The Crown and The Undoing top series nominations

Also with The Lady’s Game, Ozark and Ratched, Netflix crushes the competition.

The year which has just passed was very special for the cinema, but incredibly flourishing on the side of the small screen. The 78th Golden Globe Awards will be held on Sunday February 28, 2021, under the leadership of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. And the nominations just announced – by Sarah Jessica Parker and Taraji P. Henson – are already revealing the big favorites.

Like he usually does, The Crown will be in a good position. The British Netflix series lands 6 nominations. That is two more thanOzark. Overall, Netflix series have the lion’s share, with 20 nominations in total, across the different categories.

HBO follows behind and resists thanks to excellent miniseries The Undoing, who also won 4 nominations, to which are added those for Lovecraft Country, Perry mason and I Know This Much Is True. The other pay channel, Showtime, is also making a strong comeback, with three notable series: Mrs America, Your honor, and especially The Comey Rule.

As for other platforms, Hulu is doing the best and has 6 nominations thanks to The Great (3), Normal People (2) and Ramy (1), when HBO Max gets the first sesame in its short history thanks to The Flight Attendant (2), while Apple and Disney Plus appear episodically in this list, with The Mandalorian (1) on one side and Ted lasso (2) on the other.
