The music industry has had its big night this Sunday in Las Vegas. The Academy has presented the Grammy Awards at the 64th edition of the gala, which is being held for the first time at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, after the event was postponed due to the pandemic situation. Silk Sonic, the duo made up of Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak, has won two of the main awards: Best Song and Best Recording of the Year. The other great star of the evening was the singer Olivia Rodrigo, who at just 19 years old has triumphed with Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album. Jon Batiste has won the award for Best Album, Performance by american rootssong of american rootssoundtrack for visual media and music video.
As master of ceremonies, the South African comedian Trevor Noah has repeated. Billie Eilish has been loudly applauded in her interpretation of happier than ever, during which he has worn a t-shirt in tribute to Taylor Hawkins, the recently deceased Foo Fighters drummer. Among the winners in the Latin categories are the Cuban-Canadian singer Álex Cuba, the Puerto Rican Bad Bunny and the Colombian Juanes, who won the Best Latin or Alternative Rock Album category over C. Tangana and Nathy Peluso. Rubén Blades has won the award for Best Latin Tropical Album.
