Great international jazz artists perform at the most important music festival in Miami

The South Beach Jazz Festival (SBJF) already on Miami for its seventh edition. A total of 16 performances in five different places on the beach impose the genre on all the rhythms of the diverse local soundtrack, from Thursday 5 to Sunday 8 January.

Many of the festival’s performances are free and outdoors, and all are open to the public. The event, produced by power accessa non-profit organization based in miami beachfounded by blind artist/activist R.David Newhas as its mission the “awareness, access and inclusion of disability”.

This year you will be able to enjoy world-class artists, such as monty alexander, pianist nominated for grammyup to one mambo night with the first appearance in the south of the Florida of the Big 3 Palladium Orchestra. In addition to exceptional musical talent, the SBJF will host a virtual panel discussion on disability and the arts.

Legendary pianist Monty Alexander will star in the Opening Night performance at the sumptuous theater theater. Her repertoire includes a variety of Jamaican and jazz musical experiences. His sophisticated voice has made him a classic of the genre. The artist will be accompanied by luke sellick Y Jason Brown.

In a rare opportunity, the legendary music of Titus Bridge, male Y Tito Rodriguez will reach the Miami Beach Bandshell for the South Florida debut of the Big 3 Palladium Orchestra. Embodying the spirit of the originals and performing the electrifying repertoire of these storied bandleaders, composers, and fathers of Latin jazz, their sons, Tito Rodriguez Jr., Machito Jr. Y Tito Puente Jr. they will alternate as gang leaders in an exciting and competitive format. The 17-piece orchestra—including original band members—will take you on a journey through the renowned Palladium Ballroom from the city of NY.

Mike LeDonne, founder of NYC Disability Pride Parade Y R.David New will lead a panel discussion on disability in the arts, which also includes the winner of the Power Access Scholarship, eva carizza. The event will be moderated by Latino Leticiapodcast host Back 2 Basics.

Among the different activities that this space offers during the day for young jazz lovers, a dialogue with the veteran composer, producer and performer stands out. Bill Pettaway Jr. (10 in the morning) and various concerts: the Broward University Jazz Ensemble (12 noon), the JECC Jazz Bootcamp Ensemble (Community Jazz Education Coalition, 1 pm) and PHASE with special guest Eva Carizza, winner of the Power Access Scholarship (2 pm) and Young Musicians Unite Jazz Collective with the special guest Jeremiah Martialalso with a scholarship (3 in the afternoon).
