Myriam Hernández achieves a milestone and receives the Latin Grammy Award for Musical Excellence – La Tercera

Singer Myriam Hernández received this day the Latin Grammy Award for Musical Excellence, and makes history as the first Chilean woman to receive it. The recognition was given to him by singer Cami (who was confirmed as a presenter for the 2022 Grammy Awards and is also competing in the Best Short Form Music Video category) at a ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada, as part of the activities of the party of the 23rd edition of the Latin Grammy Awards.

The previous local name to achieve such a distinction was Lucho Gatica in 2007.

At the event, the singer was accompanied by her parents and children who traveled from Santiago to accompany her, as well as her husband, her tour staff and the prominent engineer Boris Milán.

The Latin Grammy Award for Musical Excellence is a recognition that since 2004 has been awarded by vote of the Board of Directors of the Latin Recording Academy. “to artists who have made creative contributions of exceptional artistic significance in the field of recording during their careers”, according to the award portal.

It is a collective recognition, in which, in addition to the Chilean balladeer, with a long international career, the Spanish Rosario Flores, the Brazilian singer Rita Lee, the Argentine/Mexican singer Amanda Miguel and the Venezuelan singer-songwriter Yordano were also recognized.

In previous editions, other artists such as Fito Páez, Joaquín Sabina, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Emmanuel, José Feliciano, Roberto Carlos, Ricardo Montaner, Charly Garcia, Pablo Milanés and Joan Báez have been recognized with this award.

From the beginning of October and until last November 13, Myriam Hernández made an extensive tour of 20 cities in the United States in which he presented his show Mi Paraíso, in which he displayed his album synergy, published this year. Also, on November 3, the singer was one of the guests at the Mon Laferte sold out show at the Movistar Arena, when they performed the hit together Wound.

In this month, in addition, Hernández published the single Lighta song composed by Jacobo Calderón (son of the late composer Juan Carlos Calderón), the first preview of an album of Christmas songs to be published on December 2.

“It is a wish that I had for years and making it come true has been a dream come true. They are Christmas songs that are in the collective consciousness, which I have adapted to my style. Y Light it is inspired by the spirit and nostalgia of the family movies that are enjoyed during the Christmas holidays” explained the artist.

In addition, the artist has just confirmed a date for her Mi Paraíso tour in Chile. The reunion with the local fans, in which she will perform her hits and part of her album synergy, will take place on May 6, 2023, at the Gran Arena Monticello. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, November 18 from 11:00 a.m.
