The cucuteño who participated in an album nominated for the Grammys

Since he was studying in schools in Cúcuta, Jorge Andrés Salcedo, better known as ‘Badlissi’, discovered his passion for music through the interpretation of songs.

Talent that led him to study music production and that allowed him to be part of the recording team of the album ‘Happy Anniversary’ by Jean Carlos Centeno and Ronal Urbina, today nominated for Best Cumbia/Vallenato Album at the Latin Grammys.

His job consisted of keeping an eye on the recordings and the equipment that will facilitate its production together with two other engineers.

“It was an incredible experience to be able to learn from such important figures of vallenato music in this country, as well as everything that is done to produce an album and for it to receive a nomination. Everything was worked in a very professional way with the arrangements, engineering and equipment”, he indicated.

And he says that the opportunity to work with these artists came from some people with whom he had previously worked. “They give me the vote of confidence, I know Master Jean Carlos and Ronal, they like my work and I become part of the team”.

His knowledge and love for music have not only led him to work with these characters, but he has also had the opportunity to work in the teams of Kevin Flórez and Donny Caballerowho was part of the duo “Dragón y Caballero”.

And according to his account, when he was the winner of the Grammy awards, both the performers and the other filmmakers will receive recognition from the academy.

A cucuteño “at heart”

‘Badlissi’ considers himself both from Cucuta and Cartagena, because although he was born on the coast, he has spent most of his life in Cúcuta, a city where he also discovered his musical skills

“In Cúcuta there is a lot of talent, I have had the opportunity to work with various artists such as ‘Donny’ and Víctor Quintero. Many travel to Bogotá to promote their talent”, he assured.

And although he has been much more inclined towards the production part, he remembers when he sang in the schools where he studied and at some point plans to launch as a soloist, interpreting urban genre songs, since he has also managed to compose them.

In March of this year, he released the song “Duelo” with the singer from Cucuta “Maradonny”, which also has an official video clip.

Jorge Andrés is currently working on a project together with other creators and Juanse Laverde, winner of the Voz Kids in 2018.

“He is a very talented boy, he is having a career that is on the rise and we are contributing our grain of sand to the whole issue, seeing his process,” he said.

Producer, composer, pianist and arranger from Cucuta Julio Reyes Copello was honored with seven nominations at the 23rd Latin Grammy Awards, which will take place on November 17 at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This is the fifth time that Reyes Copello receives a nomination in the Producer of the Year category at the Latin Grammys (a distinction he had achieved in 2010, 2013, 2018, and 2019) and joins the more than 40 nominations and 11 awards. Grammy and Latin Grammy received throughout almost three decades of success.
