The 23rd edition of the Latin Grammys will be held on Thursday, November 17 at the Michelob Ultra Arena at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, United States. More than 20 Venezuelans are present in this year’s nominations.
Apart from these nominations, in this edition the Venezuelan singer Yordano will be awarded with the gramophone for Musical Excellence, which will be delivered by the Board of Directors of the Latin Recording Academy.
Transmission. The ceremony will be broadcast on the Univisión channel at 9:00 pm, Venezuela time.
A peculiar phenomenon of this edition is that the Best Instrumental Album category is dominated by Creole artists, since four of the five nominations were for Venezuelans. In this category are the group C4 Trio with the album Back to 4Gerry Weil and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra with Gerry Weil Symphonicthe Raíces de Venezuela group with Offering and the violinist Daniela Padrón and the Cuban pianist Glenda del E with She.
Jorge Luis Chacín is the Venezuelan who has accumulated the most nominations this year, most of them due to his work as a composer. The name of the man from Zuliano appears in the Best Contemporary Tropical Album categories for the world is crazy.
In addition, Chacín is part of the nominations that Cristina Aguilera received in the Album of the Year and Song of the Year categories; that of Kany García in Best Tropical Song and of Camilo with Carlos Vives in the categories of Song of the Year and Best Pop Song.
Another Venezuelan with numerous nominations is Yasmil Marrufo, who managed to get into the Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Tropical Song and Best Regional Mexican Song categories. The artist also participated in collaborations with Christina Aguilera and Kany García.
Akapellah, Jorge Glem and more
The rapper Akapellah competes in the categories: Best Urban Music Album and Best Rap Song.
The singer Arca managed to enter the category of Best Alternative Music Album. In addition, Dani Barón is competing for the Best Arrangement award.
The cuatro player Jorge Glem collaborated on the song “I will never forget you” by Mireya and the Mexican group Flor de Toloache, for which reason he is also competing for the Best Regional Mexican Song.
The first brothers compete against each other in the Album of the Year category. Servando participated in the production of the album Aguilera by Christina Aguilera, while Florentino collaborated on Pa’ alla voy by Marc Anthony. Luigi and Santiago Castillo, members of SanLuis, also participated in both albums.

The artist Manuel Lara has two nominations in the Album of the Year category with We are no longer the sameof Elsa and Elmar, and Dharmaby Sebastián Yatra. In addition, it will be in the Song of the Year and Best Pop Song category for “Tacones rojos”, by Sebestan Yatra.
Ricardo Montaner, Luis Jiménez and Mcklopedia
The Venezuelan-Argentine singer Ricardo Montaner entered the Best Tango Album category, while his daughter Evaluna is competing for Song of the Year and Best Pop Song with “Índigo”.

Elena Rose, Venezuelan-American singer-songwriter, participated in four albums nominated for Album of the Year. She also collaborated on the song “Mamiii” for Karol G and Becky G, which was nominated for Song of the Year.
Luis Jiménez, lead singer of Los Mesoneros, and rapper Mcklopedia are nominated in the Album of the Year category for composing for the album We are no longer the sameof Elsa and Elmar.
The audiovisual producer Nuno Gomes participates in the Best Short Form Music Video category for “Mía” by the Chilean artist Cam. In addition, Venezuelan bailaora Siudy Garrido is competing for Best Long Form Music Video and Best Packaging Design, in the latter she shares credit with Venezuelan designer Pedro Fajardo.
