The organization of the Mazatlán International Carnival 2023 revealed this morning the cast that will be part of the different coronations.
The singer Eden Muñoz will be the one who will grace the coronation of the King of Carnival, on Thursday, February 16 at the Teodoro Mariscal Stadium. The former vocalist of Calibe 50 and also producer and composer of great hits that important groups have had the opportunity to record for him, such as Banda MS, Julión Álvarez, Río Roma and La Arrolladora Banda el Limón, to mention a few, will have his first meeting with the public of Mazatlán in what will also be his first performance as a soloist.
The Coronation of the Carnival Queen will be enlivened by Sergio Lizarraga’s MS band, who will also celebrate their 20-year career on the same stage.
The group, which has had a successful career, managing to fill the National Auditorium and other important venues in both Mexico and the United States on several occasions, possibly will also have guests that night that will be accompanying it.
And this will not be the only participation that Banda MS will have in the Carnival, since it was revealed that it will also be part of the parade with an allegorical float alluding to its 20-year career, which will be created by Ocean Rodríguez.
Another of the artists of international stature that will be part of the maximum party of the port is Gloria Gaynor, she will be the special guest at the coronation of the Queen of the Floral Games, on Friday, February 17. The artist will be accompanied by Héctor Ortiz and special guests.
At the coronation of the Infant Queen, on Monday, February 20, Jessie & Joe will arrive on this stage. The brothers Jesse and Joy Huerta Uecke, who have successfully transitioned in the genre of pop ballads, Latin pop and pop rock and with memorable performances at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico, the National Auditorium in Mexico City and the Movistar Arena from Santiago de Chile, will delight the public with the songs that have catapulted them to fame and will share the most acclaimed songs from their recent collection. The winners of the Grammy and six Latin Grammys will sing to the Children’s Queen and the entire public of Mazatlán.
That same Carnival Monday and as this is already a tradition, Olas Altas will become a great stage where Jorge Medina will perform. The Sinaloan soloist with 22 recorded albums, and awards that stand out in his artistic career such as the Lunas del Auditorio Nacional, Oye Awards, Billboard Awards, Lo Nuestro Awards and Latin Grammy, will undoubtedly reach the hearts of the thousands of attendees who will gather at that place.
Another important event in all this celebration that is celebrating its 125th anniversary, is also the Evening of the Arts, which on this occasion will be in charge of the Mazatlán Chamber, the maestro Enrqiue Patrón de Rueda as concert director and the Mezzosoprano from Mazatlan Sarah Holcombe. The show that will be offered on Saturday, February 11 at the Ángela Peralta theater is called Amor Pagano. The same maestro Enrique Patrón de Rueda announced that it is an original show, full of sensuality and mischief, in which the love affairs of gypsy women will be told.
Tickets for each of the events are on sale starting today at the ticket offices that will be installed in the Instituto de Cultura, La Gran Plaza and Plazuela República.
