The innovative Venezuelan artist, choreographer and dancer Siudy Garrido is the first Latin American flamenco artist to receive two Latin GRAMMY® nominations thanks to her recording and performing arts project, “Bailaora – Mis pies son mi voz”, in which the zapateo flamenco is the main instrument.
The Miami-based artist received 2 nominations from the Latin Recording Academy in the categories: Best Long Form Music Video (Best Long Form Music Video) along with the artists Rosalia, Romeo Santos, Natalia Lafourcade and Betusta Morla and also for the packaging of his flamenco album, which bears the same name, as Best Recording Package (Best Packaging Design).

The revealing documentary “Bailaora, Mis Pies Son Mi Voz” was directed by award-winning Venezuelan director Pablo Croce, this being his fifth nomination for the coveted gramophone.
The documentary shows unpublished and exclusive scenes of the creative process of Siudy Garrido, together with the composer Juan Parrilla and Manuel Fernández, delving into the complexity of creation, showing how the

For the artist, the nominations represent a great achievement, and are a sign of the universality of flamenco, an art that conquers hearts around the world and she feels honored that her work is recognized by the Academy.

As for the Best Recording Package category, the packaging design directed by Siudy Garrido and Latin GRAMMY® winner Pedro Fajardo featured the main image by renowned photographer Omar Cruz, photographic material from the live show by plastic artist Migdalia Salazar and behind the scenes of Jorge Lozada. The elaboration of the book, which accompanies the packaging, was made by Gady Alrroy’s Art Media Studio gallery.
All the music for the documentary “Bailaora, Mis Pies Son Mi Voz” was recorded live at the October 9 performance at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami, who are associate producers of the piece.
The album
It was recorded in Miami with original music by flutist and musical director Juan Parrilla and electric guitarist Manuel Fernández. The lyrics are by Siudy Garrido, Juan Parrilla, the dancer Juan Manuel Fernández Montoya Farruquito and other traditional ones in the public domain, including additional music by the Spanish guitarist José Luis de la Paz, with the participation of great musicians such as the Venezuelan percussionist Adolfo Herrera, the singing by Ismael Fernández, Manuel Gago and Yiyi Orozco and piano by Manuel Gámez.
Siudy Garrido’s album “Bailaora: Mis Pies Son Mi Voz” can be heard on all digital platforms.
The images of the 60-minute documentary also show the hard work of the ballet that accompanies Siudy Garrido from Venezuela, Cuba, Mexico and the United States, where they appear; Daniela Rosi, Analí Alcantara, Orianna Torres, Carolina Torres, Andrea Gonzalez, Anabella Amanau, Victoria Torrellas and Tania Kuri.
This documentary will be available on digital platforms, while it culminates its presentations at festivals and in movie theaters in various cities around the world.
Currently, the company is in the middle of its tour in the United States, soon it will visit Miami, Puerto Rico, New York and Tampa.
