San Juan, Dec 31 (EFE).- The Puerto Rican reggaeton duo Wisin y Yandel will culminate their “La Última Misión” tour this Saturday with the last of the 14 consecutive tours they have given in San Juan, at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum – with capacity for 14,000 people-, with which he has broken a record of performances, thus ending a career of almost 25 years in his homeland.
“Going on stage with my brother Wisin is in itself a great opportunity and achieving these records in the land that saw us born and supported us from the very beginning to this day on our journey through music is one of those great things. dreams that today become reality,” Yandel said in a statement.
The artists reached another milestone with these 14 performances, since it was the first time that an artist managed to perform 39 performances at the most important venue in Puerto Rico.
On the other hand, Andy Martínez, Yandel’s manager, described as “extremely gratifying” to witness a spectacular year for the singer.
“There were 81 shows with ‘La Última Misión’ and ending on the Isla del Encanto, where it all began, achieving these new records is truly wonderful,” added Martínez
For his part, Wisin stressed that the records do not belong to them, “they belong to Puerto Rico, to our fans, to all those who have accompanied us during these 25-year career,” he said, showing his gratitude to their families and their team. of work.
“Today we celebrate big and we are happy because we do it at home,” Wisin said.
Similarly, Chris Duque, Wisin manager commented that he was “grateful to be part of this historic moment with Wisin y Yandel. Thank you Wisin for your trust and allowing us, together with the WK Entertainment team, to work hand in hand in your career”.
His tour “La última misión” began on September 29 in Orlando (Florida) with the first concert of a total of 41 performances and will conclude this Saturday celebrating the end of the year in San Juan.
“We already celebrated Christmas together and now we are going to experience an incredible party at the end of the year, you are not prepared for all the surprises that we have this December 31,” the duo noted in their latest post on their Instagram profile.
Wisin y Yandel launched their production “La Última Misión” at the end of September, as the final touch of their career as a group, with 11 guests, including Rosalía, J Balvin and Jennifer López.
It was in their hometown of Cayey, in the central and mountainous area of Puerto Rico, where this duet met and started their musical career in 1998.
The duo presented their first studio album, “Los reyes del nuevo millennio”, in 2000, a joint career that ended temporarily in 2013 to reunite in 2018.
During their 14-year career as a duo, they received numerous multi-platinum certifications in the United States and Latin America and a number of other prestigious awards, including two Latin Grammys and one Anglo-Saxon Grammy, as well as ten Billboard Latin Airplay number 1s.
