Ackles recently shared with Collider that the series' format will feel familiar, borrowing what works about The Boys to create 'something a little different,' with a keen focus on its nostalgic setting.

As Soldier Boy navigates the modern world, having been 'a man out of time,' Ackles hints that the character will finally find his footing in Vought Rising, becoming 'the undeniable leader' as the series delves into the events that shaped him, 'unveiling the layers of what really happened in that time.'

With five seasons of The Boys, two of Gen V, and one of The Boys Presents: Diabolical under its belt, the ambition of Vought Rising remains to be seen. However, Ackles is confident that Amazon Prime Video is all-in, stating that 'they intend for it to be a multi-season series.'
