Disney unveils live-action moana trailer with dwayne johnson's maui reveal

Disney has dropped the highly anticipated trailer for its live-action remake of 2016's animated hit Moana. The sneak peek offers a first look at Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson in his reprised role as demigod Maui, complete with tattoos. The film, set for a July 10, 2026 release, appears to be a faithful adaptation of the original, showcasing numerous scenes from the animated classic.

Johnson's Maui is joined by newcomer Catherine Laga'aia as Moana, who embarks on an epic journey to restore prosperity to her island people with the help of the infamous Maui. Auli'i Cravalho, the voice of the original Moana, serves as an executive producer alongside director Thomas Kail and others.
