Director Chad Stahelski and writer Mike Finch have come up with a 'cool' story idea for John Wick 5, according to Stahelski. The duo will work on shaping the narrative once they have a 50-page script, with Stahelski indicating they're 'actively working on it', but the key is making it satisfying.

Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chairman Adam Fogelson provided the most promising update, stating that Stahelski and Reeves have an 'idea that they think can be really exciting'. While there's no set timeline, Fogelson notes that they've 'landed on something' they're enthusiastic about.

John Wick's return comes as no surprise given the massive box office success of each installment, with Chapter 4 raking in over $440 million worldwide. However, with Reeves now 61, questions remain about his physical ability to perform the demanding 'gun fu' stunts.

Stahelski has hinted that John Wick 5 will be distinct from its predecessors, possibly set in a new story that doesn't involve the High Table. The film's release will likely follow the planned anime prequel and Donnie Yen-starring spinoff, Caine.
