Lionsgate has confirmed that the new John Rambo film, starring Noah Centineo, will hit theaters on June 4, 2027.

Rambo's violent past to be explored

The prequel will delve into the titular character's early days in Vietnam, providing an origin story for the iconic action hero.

Directed by Sisu's Jalmari Helander, the film features a young Centineo as Rambo, alongside David Harbour as Major Trautman and James Franco in a supporting role.

Interestingly, Sylvester Stallone, the actor who portrayed Rambo in the previous five films, will not appear in front of the camera but will executive produce the project alongside The Russo Brothers' AGBO.

With filming wrapped earlier this year, it remains unclear if there are plans for sequels with Centineo in the role of John Rambo, given that key parts of the character's life have already been depicted on screen.
