Starr shuns resident evil role, citing age concerns

Antony Starr, the Kiwi actor known for his villainous turn as Homelander in Amazon's hit series The Boys, has shut down rumors of him playing Albert Wesker in a potential live-action Resident Evil film.

Starr sees no connection beyond hair color

In a recent interview, Starr politely dismissed the idea, stating that he only shares one trait with the iconic character – his blonde hair – and that he now no longer fits the bill due to his age.

At 50, Starr believes he may be too old to convincingly portray Wesker, who typically appears in his 40s in the video games. He also hinted at a fear of being typecast as a sadistic villain, a role he's already mastered in The Boys.

Zach Cregger, the director of the new Resident Evil film, has promised an original story set within the franchise's universe, potentially leaving room for classic characters like Wesker to make appearances. However, with Starr expressing little enthusiasm for the part, it seems unlikely he'll be taking on the role anytime soon.
