The album “Un verano sin ti”, in just six months since its release in May 2022, turned Bad Bunny into a phenomenon and achieved what no other Latin artist had achieved so far.
For the realization of this album, made up of 23 songs, Bad Bunny joined forces with two great reggaeton references such as Chencho Corleone and Tony Dize. He also collaborated with two exponents of the “new generation” of Puerto Rican urban singers, Rauw Alejandro and Jhay Cortez. And with the indie pop duos, The Marías and Buscabulla; and the Colombian group, Bomba Estéreo.
Its success is unprecedented, setting some sales and streaming records. With “Un verano sin ti”, Bab Bunny managed to position her second album at number one on the Billboard 200. The first was her album “El último tour del mundo”, a milestone in the history of the list for a Latino artist.
And the exploits of the artist continue. Recently “Un verano sin ti” was nominated for Album of the Year at the 2023 Grammys, being the first album completely in Spanish to achieve it in the history of the awards. Maximum Category in which it competes with established artists such as Beyoncé, Harry Styles and Adele. He has also been nominated in the category of Best Solo Pop Vocal Performance, for “Moscow Mule”, the first time for a Latino artist.
Also so far in his short but successful and promising career, Bad Bunny has made numerous collaborations that became hits, such as: “Mayores, with Becky G; “Mía”, with Drake; “Vuelve”, with Daddy Yankee ; “Ahora me llama”, with the Colombian Karol G; “Dákiti”, with Jhay Cortez; and “I Like It”, with Cardi B and J Balvin.

Along with Canadian rapper Drake, “Mía” is Bad Bunny’s most successful collaboration. The song was released in 2018 as a single from the Puerto Rican’s debut studio album, “X 100pre”. On the Billboard charts, “Mía” peaked at number one on Hot Latin Songs and achieved its best position at number five on the Hot 100. To date, the song has more than 1.3 billion views on YouTube.

Released in 2018 as a single from rapper Cardi B’s debut studio album, “Invasion of Privacy”, in collaboration with Bad Bunny and Colombian J Balvin, “I Like It” managed to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100. it won the Song of the Summer award at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards, and was nominated the following year for Record of the Year at the 61st Grammy Awards. The official video for the song currently has more than 1.5 billion views on YouTube.

The Colombian collaborated with Bad Bunny on “Ahora me llama”, released as a single on May 26, 2017 and included on Karol G’s debut album, “Unstoppable”. Only on YouTube it has more than 950 million views.

“Come back”

The first time that both Puerto Ricans collaborated was in 2017, with the single “Vuelve”, belonging to the album “El Disco Duro”, by Daddy Yankee. On YouTube, the official video has more than 700 million views. They then got back together in 2020, with the song “La Santa”, from Bad Bunny’s second studio album, “YHLQMDLG”. And they recently got together to collaborate on the song “X Última Vez”, which is part of the Puerto Rican star’s latest album, “Legendaddy”.

It was released in 2020 as the lead single from “The Last World Tour”, Bad Bunny’s third studio album. “Dákiti” became Bad Bunny’s third Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hit, after “I Like It”, his collaboration with Cardi B and J Balvin; and “Mía”, with Drake, both songs in 2018. It also became Bad Bunny’s third song to debut at number one on Hot Latin Songs in 2020, after “Si veo a tu mamá” and “Un día ( One Day). It has more than 1.5 billion views on YouTube.

Bad Bunny was invited to collaborate on this song along with J Balvin, Dua Lipa, and his compatriot Tainy. “Un día (One Day)” was released in 2020 as the main single from J Balvin’s album, “José”; being nominated for the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category at the 63rd Grammy Awards. The music video stars the Spanish actress Úrsula Corberó, known for her role as Tokio in the Netflix series, “La casa de papel”.

With all the controversy its lyrics caused, “Mayores” peaked at number three on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart. The song was released in 2017 as the lead single from Becky G’s debut album, “Mala Santa.” It currently has more than 2.2 billion views on YouTube, making it the most viewed music video for both artists on the platform.

Performed by Bad Bunny together with the Spanish singer Rosalía, “La noche de anoche” was part of Bad Bunny’s third studio album, “El último tour del mundo” (2020); written by both performers along with Tainy and Chris Jedi. The music video for the song exceeds 500 million views on YouTube.

One of Bad Bunny’s most recent collaborations is “Me Porto Bonito”, in the company of Chencho Corleone, a former member of the Puerto Rican reggaeton duo, Plan B. After the release of the album “Un Verano Sin Ti” in May 2022, the song debuted at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 list; “Moscow Mule”, “Tití Me Preguntó” and “Después de la Playa” were added, which reached numbers 4, 5 and 6, respectively.
