BitBang, the festival animation, video games and digital art most important in Latam returns in two formats: face-to-face, with 6 locations in CABA (Recoleta Cultural Center, MACBA, Lucero Club, Da Vinci School, Otra Historia and Arcade CS), and virtual via bitbangfest.com. Entry to most of the activities is free. There are screenings, animation and video game competitions, parties, face-to-face and online workshops, a Game Jam, a section of women’s shorts, talks, an animation workshop of 6 consecutive hours, contests and a wide variety of activities with international and national references .

All about BitBang 7: dates, schedule and more

From October 25 to November 25 The 7th edition of BitBang is held, the most outstanding festival in the region that brings together the best of animation, video games and digital art through innovative artistic proposals and recognized figures in different fields, as well as screenings, activities and competitions .

The inauguration of the event took place under the vines of Club Lucero with screenings, music and drinks. The screenings of shorts continue throughout this week and the month of November for free in the Club Lucero room. The Thursday 28, World Animation Day, start the online activities with an animation workshop lasting 6pm, a live animation demonstration by Ayar Blasco, and the week-long Game Jam ends.

The programming of the month will continue with various talks, masterclasses and workshops. This year for the first time the intensive workshops of several encounters began, in which you come out with a finished work: animation script, illustration, fanzine, animation. Among the guests, Raman Djafari, Power Paola, China Ocho, Martín Garabal, Ayar Blasco, Picho Brazo and Julieta Iácono stand out. Likewise, there will be talks by representatives of Disney, Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon, as well as conferences by the Argentine Network of Women of Animation.

The festival also stands out for its sample of short films and videos, which participate in the International Competition for Short Films, the Latin American and Argentine Competition for Short Films, the International Competition for Graduation Short Films, and the Latin American and Argentine Competition for Graduation Short Films. At the end of the event, the awards and distinctions will be awarded in each category.

This year also presents a section for women’s shorts filmmakers, producers and directors. In the videogames section there will be a Game Jam, the international competition of indie games that you can go to tests, talks, workshops and arcades.

BitBang emphasizes collective creation and training and brings together a wide range of cultural, artistic and educational offerings for the public to experience. Other activities include collective illustration sponsored by Wacom, a workshop with the national illustrator Jésica Bianchi, a 2D animation marathon in which shorts are made for 18 consecutive hours, game jam, different workshops, live bands, continuous activities, awards ceremony and various parties in different parts of the city.

Founded in 2015., directed and produced by the audiovisual producer Barbara Cerro (who, in addition to Martín Fierro Digital, has received numerous awards such as the Die Seriale festivals in Germany and the Produ Awards in Mexico, among others), the festival has the support of INCAA, the patronage of the GCBA and the Da Vinci School.

Its previous editions had the presence of artists such as Bill Plympton, Don Hertzfeldt, David OReilly, Réka Bucsi, Nikita Diakur, Jeanette Bonds, Walter Tournier, Paloma Dawkins, Isol Misenta, Lucas Varela, Alexis Moyano and Tute, among many others. In addition, it passed through venues such as the Kirchner Cultural Center, the Cultural Center of Science, the Galileo Galilei Planetarium and the INCAA Gaumont Space.
