Today, the rock band Fall out Boya GRAMMY Award nominee and multi-platinum winner, announced that her eighth studio album So Much (For) Stardust will be released on March 24, 2023 and released the first glimpse of the new music with the release of the first single from the record “Love From The Other Side.” Listens “Love From The Other Side” here and pre-order So Much (For) Stardust here. “Technology has made it very easy to make records much faster these days. There’s nothing wrong with that, and that spontaneity can be exciting,” he shares Patrick Stump of F.O.B. “But we wanted to go back to the way we used to work. We wanted to make a record that was lovingly crafted, deliberate and patiently guided, like someone delicately preparing a meal for you. I’m not a very proud guy, but I’m pretty proud of this record.”
So Much (For) Stardust marks a homecoming for the band on multiple fronts; the first of which found the band reunited with renowned producer Neal Avronwith whom they have worked on three previous albums (From Under the Cork Tree, Infinity on High, Folie à Deux). On working with Avron on this record, Stump notes, “Neal not only taught us how to make records, but he has a unique ability to really take the time and focus on a record. We thought it was a no-brainer to work with him again, on a record where that was very important to us, and he was kind enough to agree to work with us.”
Also, So Much (For) Stardust will be released on Fueled By Ramen/Elektra, Fall Out Boy’s first album on the label since his 2003 debut. Take This to Your Gravewhich celebrates its 20th anniversary on May 6.
“Our band has been an ongoing art project for twenty years and we know there have been many starting points along that journey,” he says. The expectation for the launch began to take shape in November, after a mysterious advertisement published in the Chicago Tribune and continued to be built with multiple previews on your website in December, the latter of which featured a claymation video titled “A Claymation Fall Out Boy Celebration” at Christmas which included a short preview of the audio of “Love From The Other Side” for fans. On January 11, the band officially revealed the single’s release date just days before they took the stage at iHeartRadio ALTer EGO 2023 on Saturday in Los Angeles, CA.
So Much (For) Stardust is Fall Out Boy’s first new studio album since the 2018 release of MA N I A, which garnered a GRAMMY nomination for Best Rock Album and marked their third consecutive album and fourth #1 overall.
More recently, Fall Out Boy embarked on THE HELLA MEGA TOUR in July 2021 alongside Green Day & Weezer, performing live in front of over 1 million fans on a sold-out world arena tour. The American leg included numerous sold-out arena concerts, including renowned venues such as Chicago’s Wrigley Field, Boston’s Fenway Park, and Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium.
