Yesterday (Sunday, September 12) the gala for the MTV Video Music Awards and Lil Nas X was without a doubt the winner of the night, taking the award for best video clip for “Montero: Call me by your name”. The other featured artist was Olivia Rodrigo, who, being her debut year at these awards, beat out pop star Justin Bieber.
One of the surprises of the night was the emptiness of Megan Thee Stallion, which started as a favourite. But this has not been the only surprise, the absence of Rosalía was also noted. The Spanish took the award for best Latin video for her collaboration with Billie Eilish in “You are going to forget”, but she was not present to collect the statuette.

The Barclays Center in Brooklyn was filled to the brim with hundreds of fans eager to relive a face-to-face gala. The night was filled with spectacular performances, including Rodrigo’s, who concluded his pop-punk track “Good 4 You” by smashing a camera lens with a mic bang.
