The MTV MIAW Awards returned to Mexico City celebrating the best of pop culture. The epic event celebrated its ninth annual edition with a live audience for the first time since 2019.
Hosted by global pop superstar Becky G and digital star Jimena Jiménez, the night featured electrifying musical performances and the hottest stars of the moment in attendance.
The best moments of the MTV MIAW 2022
– Kenya OS is the most awarded, being the winner of three prizes.
– Domelipa won the most coveted award of the night, Icon MIAW.
– In one of the most celebrated moments of the night by fans, Natanael Cano opened the show and brought the lying corridos to the MIAW, with “Soy El Diablo” and “Nataaoki”.
– The hostess of the night Becky G and Guaynaa lit up the stage and made the audience dance with “Tajín”.
– From Argentina, TINI brought urban pop and the MIAW with an amazing performance of her hits “La Triple T” and “Miénteme”.
– From Colombia, music star Manuel Turizo debuted on the MIAW stage with his new hit “La Bachata”.
– Moderatto were in charge of closing the award ceremony, delivering an explosive performance, in which Danna Paola, Aczino and Nicole Favre joined in a surprise way to sing two of the hymns of a generation “Ser or seem” and “Just stay silent ”.
– MTV honored the work of two Mexican activists with the special “Transforma MIAW” award, recognizing their struggle and social work in two axes:
– LGBTQ+ rights: Natalia Lane dedicated her award to trans women in Latin America and encouraged new generations to fight for their identity and be themselves.
– Gender Equality: Mitzy Violeta Cortés was recognized by MTV for her social work in gender equality and the dignity of the indigenous vision in the problem of climate change.
