MTV Video Music Awards 2015: Miley Cyrus did it again

Justin Bieber cried, Taylor Swift rocked, and Kanye West ranted on stage. But Miley Cyrus was the one who returned to dominate the ceremony of the MTV Video Music Awards.

The 22-year-old wild girl flashed one of her breasts, wore skimpy outfits, argued with Nicki Minaj and closed the show with a new song about marijuana.

But the thing did not end there: the singer appeared behind the scenes with a lit marijuana cigarette and circulated it.

“I’ve been doing this (expletive) for a while,” he said. “Because you guys are all friends of mine, and my song is kind of about the love of marijuana and the love of humanity, I brought a little joint in case anyone gets provoked. Anybody want?” (It was not immediately known if Cyrus has a license to legally smoke marijuana for medical reasons.)

Cyrus also posted photos of herself posing with a “man on the moon” trophy and handing out avocados to photographers and reporters.

“I actually didn’t win one of these,” he said of the award. “They give you one for free as a host, just to clarify.”

Sunday’s show came two years after Cyrus stole the show at the MTV Video Music Awards by twerking with Robin Thicke. At last year’s ceremony, she won video of the year for “Wrecking Ball.”

But in the 2015 installment, Cyrus did something even more controversial by briefly showing off one of her breasts.

“MTV is not under the authority of the FCC (Federal Communications Commission), so MTV would not be subject to any indecency fines for this reason. However, if I were a sponsor of the Music Video Awards, I would probably be terribly angry,” Melissa Henson, director of education and critical support for the Television Parents Council, said in a phone interview with The Associated Press after the ceremony aired.

“Especially because it’s rated TV-14, so they’re telling parents, ‘OK, it’s okay for your 14-year-old to watch this.'”

Henson added that she wasn’t sure if Cyrus’s breast reveal was “an accident or not, but it’s pretty clear … that she was on the verge of showing almost all of her breasts, if not all of her crotch.” , if not all”, with their daring outfits.

MTV said it would remove the nude moment from its future broadcasts.

West admitted to smoking “a little thing” before ranting onstage while accepting the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award from Swift.

He also admitted “I don’t understand awards shows,” saying he was upset that Justin Timberlake and Gnarls Barkley lost the Grammy for album of the year to the Dixie Chicks in 2007.

Swift, who won video of the year for “Bad Blood,” left the ceremony drama-free. She was courteous in presenting West with her award and stood next to Kim Kardashian as the rapper got more and more rambunctious onstage. He also accompanied Minaj during the rapper’s inaugural number, with whom she sang parts of “The Night Is Still Young” and “Bad Blood” after having an awkward exchange on Twitter. Both wore similar red outfits and ended their performance with a hug.

But Minaj still had a score to settle with someone else: Cyrus.

After accepting the honor for best hip hop video for “Anaconda,” he chided the hostess:

The cameras immediately turned to Cyrus, who fired back with “we all know how to manipulate” words in interviews, referring to the one she recently gave to the New York Times. Cyrus then invited the public to vote for the “artist to watch” and added: “I lost this award in 2008 and I took it well. Whatever! Because it’s no big deal.

It’s just an award and I persevered,” he apparently vociferated looking at Minaj.

In the recent interview, Cyrus criticized the rapper for her “war with pop stars” after she was not nominated for video of the year.

“Congratulations Nicki,” the hostess concluded.

The MTV Awards, although they tend to focus on controversy and antics, also had their memorable musical moments.

Even Bieber’s return was favorable, and by the end of his performance the singer was emotional and even cried on stage.

And to close with a flourish, Cyrus announced the free release of her new album, “Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz.”
