With the global health crisis of Covid-19 everything has changed, also the red carpets. Yesterday the MTV Video Music Awards 2020 were held in New York in the midst of a strict protocol for pandemics: masks, safety distance … But even if it was in a different way, we have once again experienced a great red carpet that has brought together different stars from the world of cinema, fashion, but especially music. The award ceremony was held in different locations in the Big Apple with open-air performances, prerecorded messages, without an audience and full of green screens, although luckily there were some live performances.
Among the awards, this edition had two new categories born by the coronavirus: Best homemade video and Best presentation in quarantine. The big winner of the night was Lady Gaga with five awards, Until new changes of styles and a great message wearing different masks in their looks to remember the importance of using them and thus protect us all.
Maluma has won the only award for which he was nominated in this edition, that of Best video clip in the Latin category for the song ‘Qué pena’. Another of the stars of the night was The Weeknd who went home with the award for Best Video of the Year for ‘Blinding Lights’ and who gave a powerful speech for the end of racial violence and in which he asked for justice for Jacob Blake and Breonna Taylor. The host of the gala, Keke Palmer, wanted to remember and pay tribute to the recently deceased actor Chadwick Boseman.
Review with us the looks of this atypical gala that was marked by sensual outfits and also by touches of color. It was different, but it was not without glamor.
