Grammy 2022: These are all the nominees for the Recording Academy award

In the category al best latin pop album The albums “Vertigo”, by Pablo Alborán; “Mis Amores”, by Paula Arenas; “Made to the Old”, by Ricardo Arjona; “Mis Manos”, by Camilo; “Mendó”, by Alex Cuba, and “Revelación”, by Selena Gómez.

In the category of best urban music, Rauw Alejandro, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Karol G, Alex Cuba and Kali Uchis compete.

This 64th edition has increased the number of nominees in its most prestigious general categories, going from eight to 10, before the insistent criticism for lack of diversity from the Recording Academy Awards.

The joint performance of Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett, the popular 95-year-old singer, has six nominations for his work on “Love For Sale”.

Nomination for former President Obama

During the mention of the nominees, it was inevitable to notice the presence of the former president of the United States, Barack Obama.

The Recording Academy nominated the former president in the “Spoken Word” category for the audiobook To Promised Land, a portrait of his life and his political career, which could now earn him a Grammy to be placed next to the Nobel Peace Prize medal awarded to him by the Royal Swedish Academy in 2009.

Also, the Grammy of best regional mexican music album (including Tejano) will be decided between “Anthology of ranchera music, volume 2”, by Aída Cuevas; “A mis 80’s”, by Vicente Fernández; “Six”, by Mon Laferte; “A song for Mexico, volume 2”, by Natalia Lafourcade, and “AYAYAY! (Super deluxe)”, by Christian Nodal.

“Salswing!”, By Rubén Blades and Roberto Delgado & Orchestra; “In quarantine”, by El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico; “Without sauce there is no paradise”, by Aymée Nuviola; “Colegas”, by Gilberto Santa Rosa, and “Live in Peru”, by Tony Succar, will compete for the golden gramophone at best tropical music album.
