Although it seems an unnecessary assertion, applied to the universe and the Earth, the universe is infinite and distances are calculated in light years, but the Earth is finite and its surface and volume are measured with the metric system. It is known how big it is and how much it fits in its volume and its surface. And what and how much does it fit, in addition to its ecosystems and the kingdoms, mineral, vegetable and animal? We humans fit, intelligent unlike animals, who live thanks to their instincts, and in this process for millions of years, we are born, grow, multiply and die.

Humans apply intelligence to invent, build, innovate and destroy everything good and bad that we consume to facilitate and improve our quality of life and advancing on this path as a collateral effect, and knowing it, we have polluted the Earth, the oceans, the atmosphere and generated distortions in climatic cycles. In the last three hundred years, 109,575 days, we have built and destroyed more than in the many millions of days before.

But also since 1968 there are organizations that warn us of the risks for the Earth and humanity if we do not apply intelligence, “intelligently”, and continue destroying more than building.

In 1968, the Club of Rome, a group of scientists and politicians from several countries, concerned with improving the long-term future of the world, commissioned the ITM with the report “The Limits to Growth” published in 1972 (50 years ago) in which It was already warned of the collateral problems of growth, such as pollution, global warming, population growth, emigration and the crises we face. Twenty years ago, former Vice President Al Gore mobilized the world and received the Nobel Peace Prize for his interventions, “An Inconvenient Truth”, on climate change, its causes and consequences for all of Humanity.

In 1972 the UN held its first world congress on the environment in Stockholm and in 1986 the Rio Agreements were signed in Brazil and established Earth Day, Oceans Day, Ecosystems Day and many other days in that are carried out and actions are proposed to save the Earth and humanity… In 1996 the ISO published the ISO 14000 international standard for environmental management and the World Economic Forum, which brings together politicians, businessmen, influential leaders in Davos, also deals with the environment, the consequences of climate change and what must be done to regenerate the Earth.

So, the concern and occupation about the environmental, energy, food crises, pandemics and other issues concerning progress, innovation in the future of the Earth’s evolution is not this week.

But landing in our environment, what are we doing politicians, mayors, businessmen, trade unions, influential leaders and Salvadoran fathers and mothers for the benefit of environmental conservation, because in this, just as we are all affected by pollution and climate change? climate, we are concerned to get involved in the dedication and political, business and family decisions, to manage the natural resources that we use to maintain and improve our quality of life and supposed social peace.

A good idea would be to unite in the recovery of the Earth and the oceans in our surroundings, where in the harsh reality the modernity of cryptocurrencies contrasts with the backwardness of the piles of garbage everywhere, the chaotic traffic, the polluted rivers and lakes and the neglect of our ecosystems.
