The country has a new Miss Colombia: Sofía Osío Luna; who represented the Atlantic in the new version of the National Beauty Contest.
The coronation evening took place last Sunday, November 13 in Cartagena and, in addition to the 22-year-old woman from Barranquilla being named the new queen of Colombians, Valentina María Mora Trujillo (Miss Antioquia) was also named viceroy , Andrea Yáñez García (Miss Norte de Santander) as First Princess and, finally, Juanita Urrea Posada (Miss Valle del Cauca) was the one who remained as Second Princess.

For now, not much is known about Sofía Osío Luna, who will be present as Colombia’s representative in Miss Universe (2023), in the quest to obtain one of the most coveted crowns by beauty queens. Said beauty pageant has a date for its realization on January 14.
Now, as for the professional facet of the new Miss Colombia, she studied at the European Institute of Design in Barcelona where she graduated in Fashion Marketing and Communication. From the National Beauty Contest it was also reported that the woman from Barranquilla speaks English fluently, as a second language.

Once she received her title, Sofía Osío Luna expressed in a video shared on the contest’s social networks: “I want to thank the National Beauty Contest immensely for its objective: Beauty with a purpose, for showing that women are much more than beauty, that We are hard-working, fighter, brave women. My Sofia as a child could not believe this dream fulfilled. I am proud to represent all Colombians and all my people and work with them”.

On the other hand, regarding the crown that she will wear during her period as queen of the country, from the National Beauty Contest the piece was described as follows:
“This new crown has been the joint effort of more than 20 experts and more than 300 hours of effort and dedication to achieve a majestic piece… it preserves in the center the traditional raised lions on both sides of the cross, typical of the shield of Cartagena, emblem of the crown for decades… In homage to the 40 years of our Nobel Prize for Literature, Gabriel García Márquez, dozens of yellow butterflies mentioned in his most important work: ‘One Hundred Years of loneliness’”.
In addition, the crown is adorned in its center by a Colombian emerald.
Daniella Álvarez, who was precisely Miss Colombia in 2011, was one of the people who served as a jury in this edition of the National Beauty Contest.
“Thank you life for giving me the opportunity to step on this stage once again. 11 years ago I had the wonderful opportunity to be the queen of Colombians, today I am sitting in a privileged place: to be a jury of the most important competition in our country. What an honor,” the former beauty queen turned presenter wrote in a post for her Instagram profile.
In addition to Álvarez, Mario López Chavarri, Eduardo Alberto Diaz Strunz and Carlos Santa-Cruz also served as jurors.
